About the Founder

Afa Omar was a former athlete and sports conditioning trainer. His first exposure at high level sports conditioning programs and sports performance science was while playing soccer under university sports scholarship at Trine University (formerly Tri State University). Indiana. U.S.A. 1998-2000. Throughout his youth, all of his adult life and his short engineering career, he was coached, accredited and trained by various institutions, individuals, sports club and organizations locally and abroad. He played football competitively in University, State, local and regional leagues in the US, Malaysia and Australia. He concluded playing sports competitively after representing La Trobe University Men’s Soccer Team contending at the Australian University Games (UniGames) in 2009.

His professional career as a trainer and coach involves working at various fitness centers and sports club locally and internationally which include, and among others, True Fitness Malaysia and Fitness First, Australia.

He is registered with Fitness Australia, holds a master trainer certificate from Australian Institute of Fitness (AIF) and a certified Federation of International Sports, Aerobics and Fitness (FISAF) personal trainer. He is also a certified Senior First Aider and team sports conditioning coach.

His area of specialization includes lifestyle & weight management program, muscle mass gain program, post surgery/injury strengthening and athletic conditioning.

He founded BodyDynamics to serve as a platform to promote healthy, fun and balanced living, to provide information on the prevention and management of injuries & sedentary diseases, to support compliance of guidelines and principles in the fitness industry and to deliver broad knowledge of exercise science in exercise planning as well as lifestyle and nutritional programming advice to the public. He firmly believes that exercising should be enjoyable to do and his effective exercise routines come from years of experience of being coached, trained, educated and winning trophies. He also believes that quality exercise knowledge and health advice should be easily made accessible to everyone.

He writes regularly and features as a monthly fitness columnist for the Clove magazine of The Star newspaper.
